After attending the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in the mid-nineties I decided to abruptly change directions and focus on writing for the next couple of decades. Since returning to visual arts I have done shows all over the state of Ohio, in Kentucky and In Manhattan. I have paintings in collections across the United States and in Europe. Art has always been my life and I'm glad to be have been on this journey. It has lead me to painting. Painting is the reason I'm here. Painting is everything.
I use many different mediums, such as acrylics, pastels, oil, charcoal...etc. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process. Each idea manifests in its own individual style. Currently I've been working mostly with oil paints.
I'm inspired by the artwork of so many, but I do have a few painters that have had a profound influence on how I create and perceive art. Those artists are Richard Diebenkorn, Henri Matisse, and Paul Cezanne.
I am also inspired by great photography. I love working with photographers and using their pictures as a muse.
